Airbrush Tans

Prep for Airbrush Tans
Essential pre-tanning instructions so that you can have the best & longest lasting tan. I would spray 1-2 days before your event, so that you are fully developed if you are tanning for an event. Otherwise if it's just for fun the tan will last 10-14 days depending on your after care which I will send you also.

1. HAIR REMOVAL

Plan on doing hair removal (shaving/waxing/sugaring)if you plan to do any hair removal please do so 24 hours prior in order to ensure the hair follicles are closed.

2. NAILS & HAIR

Plan your other beauty/care services in advance. Spray Tanning is generally your last stop before events. Manicures and pedicures must be done at least a day before the spray tan session. If it is on the same day, you cannot have any lotions or oils applied to your body, as these create a barrier that prevents the spray tan solution from being absorbed. Massages also are not recommended day of because of the lotions and oils used. If you are able to wash your hair the day before that is best also, otherwise you will need to wash it facing forward if you are washing it after your tan develops.

3. EXFOLIATE

Be sure to exfoliate the day PRIOR of your tan appointment. I recommend a dry brush in the shower or exfoliating mitts. Scrubs are not recommended unless it is serval days in advance due to the oil content in them. Exfoliation is very important so the skin can be a clean even canvas and so that the tan looks smooth and fades well, You can moisturize after this as long as you are able to rinse the lotion off the next morning AT LEAST 5 hours prior to tanning application otherwise, skip the lotion.

4. SOAP SELECTION

Also use body wash vs bar soap that is more natural (not aveno or dove as they leave wax on the skin) baby shampoo, fragrance free native wash, the body wash I carry, as well as most body washes from natural grocery stores great. (Text me and I can help you also.) You don't want residue, wax or oil on the skin when you come in so rinse well.

5. SKIP LOTION

If you absolutely must shower before your application wash/rinse WITHOUT EXFOLIATING AT LEAST 5 HOURS before your session. DO NOT RINSE RIGHT BEFORE COMING IN FOR YOUR TAN. Please come to your appointment WITHOUT perfumes, lotions, spf, oils, or deodorant on the skin. Oil free face serum is okay. The tan will hydrate you also when you come in. Skip lotion if you are prepping your skin the evening before and coming early in the morning.

6. DRESS

Plan on wearing DARK LOSE fitting clothing for after your apt (long flowy pants and loose t shirt are best) especially since you will be sitting in a car afterwards. Wearing a bra is not advised after spray tanning.

7. DEVELOP

Plan on staying dry for the next 3- 5 (express solution) or 8-14 hours (standard solution) depending on your schedule & tan results desired. We will discuss the best time for you to rinse once I evaluate your skin tone.I will send all the post care also after your appointment also.

24 Hours After Your Tan
The first 24 hours after your spray tan can make or break how it looks, so it's important to know what to do after a spray tan. With proper care, your spray tan will keep that stellar glow. Here are some of our favorite tips:

1. Wait at least 8 hours to let moisture get to the skin (2-5 hrs EXPRESS). Waiting longer doesn't necessarily make you darker. Timing will also be discussed after your spray with me.
2. Use warm water not hot and rinse until you see the cosmetic bronzer come off. Water will run clear at the bottom of the tub then…
3. Use a quality hydrating cream post rinse or after showering. Do not use pure oil! Use cream whenever you feel dry. Hydrating is your best friend!
4. For best results avoid chlorine and pat dry the tan after any water activities. Avoid exfoliation until you are ready for the tan to be removed.
5. Enjoy your fabulous self and your fabulous glow!

Spray Tanning After Care
Your spray tan will last anywhere between 5-10 days, depending on your skin complexion and how you care for your tan. Taking good care of your skin and your tan in the week after a spray tan is super important, so try these tips:

1. MOISTURIZE DAILY

Make sure to moisturize in the morning and evening to keep your skin looking healthy. Use lotion twice daily in more dry climates if necessary.

2. AVOID SWIMMING

Avoiding swimming, long showers, baths, steam rooms, saunas, or any other activity that exposes your skin to being wet for long periods of time.

3. AVOID CHEMICALS, SULFATES, AND EXFOLIATION

Avoid harsh chemicals such as chlorine, products containing acids, soaps containing sulfates, massages, fashion tape, bandages, and anything else that may strip your tan. Don't exfoliate the skin until you are ready to remove your tan.

4. PAT DRY SKIN

It is important to pat dry your skin after being in water vs rubbing the skin because you don't want to exfoliate the tan off your skin. Gently pat dry when skin is wet.

5. Enjoy your fabulous Glow!!

Inquire if you are traveling or need your tan to last longer than 5-10 days, there are extending products available that I can recommend.

Thank you for choosing Radiant Glow!

Chemical Peel — Pre + Post + Prep

Pre-Treatment Prep

  • Consult & prep products: Use only the products your practitioner recommends. Some peels require retinol and hydroquinone beforehand to reduce hyperpigmentation risk.
  • Daily SPF: Wear broad-spectrum SPF 30+ every day.
  • Pause actives (1 week before): Stop retinol, AHA/BHA products, peel pads, scrubs, exfoliating brushes/devices.
  • Limit sun exposure and review contraindications to confirm you’re a good candidate.
  • Day of peel: Arrive makeup-free. After morning cleanse, apply moisturizer and SPF only.

Typical Recovery Timeline

  • First few hours: Redness, tingling, and sensitivity.
  • Days 1–2: Dryness, irritation, mild swelling.
  • Days 2–3: Flaking/peeling; discolorations may look more noticeable.
  • Days 3–4: Possible breakout; skin may look tan or slightly darker.
  • Days 5–7: Side effects begin to subside; skin starts to feel more “normal.”
  • Days 7–14: New, healthy skin forms. Mild redness or temporary color changes can persist for up to a month.

Post-Treatment Tips

  • Rinse with cool water for comfort.
  • Moisturize & hydrate: Use a medium-to-thick moisturizer; drink plenty of water to prevent tightness.
  • Apply SPF daily: Broad-spectrum physical sunscreen SPF 30+; avoid direct sun.
  • Skip heat & sweat (day of): No intense workouts, dry saunas, or steam rooms.
  • Avoid extra exfoliation: No additional exfoliants for 3–4 days post-peel.
  • Keep it simple: During peeling, use only SPF and a gentle, neutral moisturizer. Expect dryness—moisturizer helps but won’t stop all flaking. Resume your regular routine once skin has normalized.
  • Hold retinol: Stop retinol 1 week before and until fully healed after the peel to avoid over-exfoliation.
